You’re invited to join your fellow San Francisco dharma practitioners (and friends) on November 15 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. We’ll meet at Ocean Beach Café (734 La Playa) at 10:00 for supplies and instructions. Then we’ll head out, clean a beach, and head back to Ocean Beach Café at 11:30 for free lunch.

Meditation reminds us that peace is available in every instant as our natural state. What better peace offering can we make to this suffering world than being together in silence, moment to moment, ending war in our own hearts and minds?”
On this retreat we will practice the two most important ways to meet our life peacefully — with wisdom and with love. Using the time-tested practices of Vipassana (insight) and Metta (loving-kindness) Meditation, together we will strengthen our minds and soften our hearts so that we can peacefully navigate this wondrous world.
In addition to the in-person component, Zoom will be available to those who can't make it in person.
Suggested donation is $30-$70, though no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Snacks will also be available starting at 8:30am, so come early to settle in and have some tea and a snack.

Recovering Our Sanity and Well-Being
Half-Day Hybrid Retreat w/ Howie Cohn
Living in this world is stressful. We habitually look outside ourselves for relief. Thick Nhat Hanh said, “You who are the richest person on earth who have been begging for a living, stop being the destitute child. Come home and reclaim your heritage.”
Our heritage is a clear mind settled in our bodies and a soft non-reactive heart. Our road to recovery is here, the road goes nowhere except waking up to where we are. Sustaining attention to our present time experience, supporting others and being supported by others on a 1/2 day retreat is the tried and true medicine we need.
Sitting and walking meditation instructions and, dharma reflections and Q and A’s will be offered. Open to all levels of experience. Suggested dana is $30-70, though no one will be turned away for lack of funds. You will also have the opportunity to offer dana to the teacher after the event.
